Frequently Asked Questions
Items That Are Often Asked About
Puppy Feeding: We feed our puppies a premium puppy food from the Purina Company and have been very pleased with the results. By the time the pups leave us, they are usually eating 1 1/4 cups of puppy food times twice a day. When they leave us, we will give you enough food for a couple of feedings.
Health Information: Before going to their new homes, our puppies will be wormed 2-3 times, be current on their puppy vaccinations, and will be seen by a certified veterinary. They will come with a Puppy Packet, AKC Registration, a Pedigree, and a Health Record of your puppy's vaccinations and wormings and for you to use for your pup's future visits to your vet.
Purchasing a Puppy from Woodland Hills Retrievers: With deposit of $200, pups can be reserved. The selection of pups will be made in the order that the deposits were received. Deposits will be promptly refunded only if the puppy of your preference, color and gender, could not be provided.
Note: In order to promote responsible ownership, all of our pups come with a "Limited Registration"meaning that these pups cannot be bred or shown in conformation. However, if breeding or showing in conformation are your intentions, then let's chat about this.
Flight-Transporting by Air Information: We have flown a lot of our puppies with great results to cities with international airports throughout the country and into Canada. We have used Delta, North West Air, Continental, and Sky West Air. In 2009, the cost for flying a puppy is approximately $297, which includes airfare, a crate to ship the puppy in, and for the vet's final exam and document prep required by the airlines. I will not charge for our transportation to and from the airport in order to help you in keeping the costs down.
In Conclusion: Thank you for your interest. We are extremely proud of our dogs and puppies. Please contact us if you would like to own a Woodland Hill Retriever or if you have any other questions.
